The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a vital one-day training designed to empower key staff members with the skills necessary to provide emergency first aid in the workplace. Tailored to be applicable for a range of businesses from many industries and conforming to the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, this course is perfect for individuals with no previous training. Participants will learn the basics of emergency aid to effectively manage first aid arrangements and respond confidently in crisis situations. The class size is limited to a maximum of 12 attendees to ensure comprehensive learning. Upon completion, delegates will receive a certificate indicating that the course meets the regulations specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, affirming their ability to handle emergency first aid at work.
On completion of the course candidates should be able to:
- Understand the role of a first aider including reference to:
▪ The importance of preventing cross infection;
▪ The need for recording incidents and actions;
▪ Use of available equipment - Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure);
- Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
- Administer first aid to casualty that is choking;
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding;
- Administer first aid to a casualty that is suffering from shock;
- Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries.
Three day First Aid at Work and two day First Aid at Work Refresher is also available for inhouse training.

Do you have parking available on site?
We have a limited number of free parking available on site – do give us a call to check availability on the day. Letchworth Garden City Train Station is also a 30 minute walk away for those who are travelling longer distances.
Will you provide food and drink?
For all day courses we provide drinks and a cold buffet at lunchtime for courses held at our premises. Please let us know ahead of time any dietary requirements so they can be catered for.
