Delivered in Letchworth Garden City, this CITB SSSTS Refresher course provides updated construction health and safety training for individuals with supervisory responsibilities on construction sites. To enrol on the CITB SSSTS Refresher course, delegates must hold a valid SSSTS certificate dated on or before the course start date.

Delegates without a valid certificate will not be permitted to attend the course and refunds cannot be issued.

A valid certificate of the full course, dated on or before the course start date is required to enrol. This must be emailed to kate@safetyforbusiness.co.uk. Participants without a valid certificate cannot join and wont receive a refund.
Do you have parking available on site?
We have a limited number of free parking available on site – do give us a call to check availability on the day. Letchworth Garden City Train Station is also a 30 minute walk away for those who are travelling longer distances.
Will you provide food and drink?
For all day courses we provide drinks and a cold buffet at lunchtime for courses held at our premises. Please let us know ahead of time any dietary requirements so they can be catered for.
How does the CITB Levy work in terms of claiming back money for this course?
If you are paying the CITB Levy, you may be eligible to claim back money for attending any CITB course. The process involves submitting a claim to the CITB after completing the course. You will need to provide proof of attendance and payment, and the CITB will assess your claim based on their criteria. What is the SSSTS Refresher course in Letchworth?
This is a one-day refresher course delivered at Safety for Business’s Letchworth training centre. It’s for individuals who have previously passed the two-day SSSTS course—allowing you to renew your SSSTS certificate for another five years, and update your site supervision knowledge to current standards.
Who should attend, and what are the entry requirements?
Ideal for delegates with a valid SSSTS certificate, who can provide proof. You must be competent in English at supervisor level and bring valid photographic ID. If your certificate cannot be verified, the full SSSTS course must be retaken.
How is the course assessed, and what score is required to pass?
Assessment includes continuous participation in activities and a final exam containing 25 questions (22 multiple‑choice and 3 short written). You must score at least 80% (24/30) and correctly answer all 4 safety‑critical questions to pass.
What topics are included in the SSSTS Refresher?
Curriculum includes updates on UK health & safety law, the CDM 2015 regulations, risk assessments, toolbox talks, leadership and communication, welfare, and environmental responsibilities—reinforcing and updating earlier SSSTS learning.
What if my current certificate has expired?
The SSSTS refresher must be completed before certificate expiry (there is no grace period)—otherwise, you must retake the full two‑day SSSTS course.
Is the course eligible for CITB grant funding?
Yes. Employers registered with CITB may claim grant funding for this Refresher course (Tier 2). Bring your Levy registration number when booking or attending.
Can I attend online or in-person at Letchworth?
Safety for Business offers this course in-person at their Letchworth centre.
What happens after I complete the course?
You’ll receive a digital CITB SSSTS‑R certificate valid for 5 more years, ensuring you remain compliant for site supervisor roles.
