CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher

The CITB-accredited SSSTS training course is an indispensable component of safety training for modern site supervisors in the construction industry. This two-day course imparts crucial knowledge on health, safety, welfare, and environmental issues, alongside the legal responsibilities pertinent to supervisory roles on construction sites. Designed specifically for those currently in supervisory positions or about to undertake such responsibilities, the course requires participants to have previously attended an SSSTS course within the last five years. Limited to 12 participants, the training ensures focused and detailed learning, culminating in comprehensive notes and a CITB-approved certificate valid for five years. This course is a vital step for supervisors aiming to enhance their safety management skills and compliance on construction sites.

The aim of this course is to ensure that all those given supervisory responsibilities understand:

• Why they are carrying out their identified duties
• What is expected of them
• That they contribute to the safety of the workplace.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to:

• Understand the problems of the industry
• Have an understanding of how health and safety law is structured and how it applies to supervisors
• Identify how their role fits in with the management structure in controlling site safety
• Carry out risk assessments and understand the need for method statements
• Carry out effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
• Monitor site activities effectively
• Understand the importance of timely intervention when bad practice is
  identified.

Do you have parking available on site? 

We have a limited number of free parking available on site – do give us a call to check availability on the day. Letchworth Garden City Train Station is also a 30 minute walk away for those who are travelling longer distances. 

Will you provide food and drink?

For all day courses we provide drinks and a cold buffet at lunchtime for courses held at our premises. Please let us know ahead of time any dietary requirements so they can be catered for.
